Thursday, January 22nd, 2009A variety of music video in the FLASH format (sorry iPhone!)
UPDATE yo Flash player if these don’t work!
FLEET FOXES have released a video for “MYKONOS,” a track from their early Sun Giant EP that was recently performed on Saturday Night Live:
EL GUINCHO’s album was one of my favorite releases of 2008. It is a hard to describe synthesis of many musical sounds that is at once engaging and relaxing. I was pretty bummed when his announced gig at LA’s GETTY CENTER was cancelled last year, but Pitchfork.tv has a live performance up.
EL Guincho: LIVE! PART ONE:
Recently, I read an interview on Pitchforkmedia.Com with an artist whose music I had not even heard (something I NEVER do). That artist was Marnie Stern, the new indie rocker girl who’s got indie rock dudes a-flutter from Silverlake to Williamsburg. I’ll admit, the interview (which discussed her “kissing booth” used to raise extra cash while touring) had me smitten, so here’s a new entry in Pitchfork.tv’s series “DAYTRIPPING,” where they follow an artist around for a day with video camera in tow… [this is the HIGH-BANDWIDTH version because I didn’t want her cuteness obscured by compression ;]
Part ONE of “Daytripping: Say My Name” with MARNIE STERN:
Pitchfork.tv is an all-FLASH video site from Pitchforkmedia.com and in addition to hosting new videos and interviews, they have been making a series of feature-length programming available for one-week windows. The time limit encourages you to take advantage of the opportunities and if you have a HTPC (Home Theater PC) or the means to send video from your computer to a TV, this is the perfect reason to pull out some cables and hook your ‘puter up to some bigger speakers. Previous “One Week Only” offerings have included feature documentaries and concert films from The PIXIES, DAFT PUNK, and others, but this week you can feast on KRAFTWERK‘s Concert Film MINIMUM – MAXIMUM : The MAN-MACHINE. Released in 2005, it features footage from their 2004 concert tour. Watch for FREE below courtesy of Pitchfork.tv
